Punkin Disaster
Oh no. Disaster. My cute little pumpkin exploded in the baby kiln, and his stem just… popped right off. I opened the kiln so excited and instead found this sad, cracked surprise waiting for me.
I won’t lie, it hurt. I was so proud of this piece and so sure it was going to make it through just fine. But clay has a way of teaching lessons whether you ask for them or not. About moisture. About patience. About how even careful work can still go sideways sometimes.
I’m trying to see this one as part of the process. Not a failure, just information. A reminder that learning pottery means breaking a few hearts along the way, usually your own. 😭
Rest in pieces, little pumpkin. You taught me something important.
