Nature, Rolled in

Another great technique from Tiffany at Hobble Creek Pottery on YouTube.

She rolled bits of nature, flowers from her garden, directly into her clay. Leaves, textures, quiet little imprints from the outside world. I loved the idea instantly. So of course, I went outside, gathered a few small pieces of nature, brought them home, and rolled them right into this giant mug.

I added an underglaze transfer too, layering pattern over texture, and honestly… I just love it so much. There’s something deeply satisfying about pressing real, imperfect natural shapes into clay and letting them leave their mark. It feels collaborative somehow, like the piece is holding a moment in time.

This one feels special. A little wild, a little grounded, and very much a reminder that inspiration is often right outside the door.
