Learning to Wait
After playing in the clay at All Fired Up, I met a friend for a hand-building class at Atlanta Clay Works. We made a bowl and the cutest little luminary, and I had so much fun I barely noticed the time passing. Hand building felt natural, playful, and forgiving in a way that immediately made sense to me.
Then came the part I’m not great at. Waiting. Six to eight weeks for the pieces to be fired feels like an eternity for an impatient girl like me. But maybe that’s part of the lesson too.
Clay doesn’t rush, and apparently neither does pottery. 😅
So I’m learning. Slowly. One waiting period at a time.
